Allison Winterbottom is proprietor and chief physiotherapist of In Peak Health Ltd Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic. In Peak Health is based in New Mills, but Allison also practises at Ryley Mount consulting rooms on Monday and Thursday, and is an affiliate of the Manchester Orthopaedic Group.
Allison graduated with Honours from Huddersfield University in 2000 and began working part-time in private practice while holding a senior post with the NHS physiotherapy out patients department at Shirehill Hospital, Glossop. This was to lead to her acquiring the (then) Coverley Clinic in New Mills in 2006, and full-time commitment to the private sector.
In Peak Health offers assessment and treatment for musculo-skeletal ailments varying from whiplash injuries to sports injuries, as well as for post-operative rehabilitation and management of chronic conditions. Being in the heart of the Peak District, many of the injuries presented come from hill-related sports - climbing, fell-running, cycling - and In Peak Health maintains a close relationship with local clubs, offering discounted rates at the New Mills clinic to members. The clinic at New Mills also offers complementary therapies including podiatry and sports massage.
In addition Allison is an accredited member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, and of PhysioFirst (the Organisation for Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice). She regularly attends post-graduate training on all aspects of and developments in physiotherapy. She has a special interest in shoulder and pelvic problems.
Outside of work Allison owns three horses and has a keen interest in riding and carriage driving. |
